May 2nd 2015, while on a Mahler Chamber Orchestra tour in Asia, my friend and viola player Joel Hunter came to me in need of some “edgy photos” for a CD cover. That’s pretty unusual for a classical musician, and I was immediately excited at the prospect of taking advantage of Hong Kong’s inspiring scenery. It did not take long to spot the perfect back alley, with lots of “edgy” atmosphere, complete with potent smells, dark corners, local workers, and super size rodents. Joel’s viola case in that setting was easy to mistake for an Heckler & Koch carrying devise, the mood was set… The story is yours to imagine.
Fantastic pictures.
