Revisiting the first days of our Mahler Chamber Orchestra tour in Japan, in Sapporo, where we stayed for the first week.

As a coincidence, my first visit to Japan had been 20 years ago, and the first stop was Sapporo. I still remember the chill in the air as I walked on Odori. It was November 1996…
