This is the concert day in la Scala. I have been to many Italian theaters but this one is obviously special, and I can feel everyone is excited!
So many performances have been photographed here by photographers who know the house well. I have a feeling all possibilities have been exhausted. But I don’t give up, I leave the hotel earlier than usual and start scouting. With the help of Alejandro who knows every corner of Scala, I discover the bird’s eye view, a little chamber above the ceiling’s central chandelier. A challenging location, hot and cramped with lighting equipment and wires, just my sort of place!
Now I can get on with the playing, and documenting the backstage life, as usual!
The morning rehearsal, finally on stage
Under the roof, on the way to the bird’s nest!
